Johannes, a talented and dedicated athlete, had shown exceptional promise in his first year playing in the S.G. Ball Cup, and many saw him as a rising star of Australian rugby.

Originally from Orange, Johannes began his sporting journey in Rugby Union before transitioning to rugby league, where he quickly made an impact. Standing at 6’1” and weighing 103kg, he was a powerful presence on the field, admired for his skill, work ethic, and fearless approach in both attack and defence. Coaches and teammates alike praised him not only for his talent but for his passion, determination, and integrity as a player and as a person.

Johannes’s promising trajectory included eligibility for the 2026 Under-19 S.G. Ball squad, and many believed he had a bright future ahead in the sport.
