The Frankford community is mourning the loss of Emery “Sam” Castimore, Jr., a dedicated public servant, Frankford Committeeman, and Mayor Emeritus, who passed away this past weekend after a long and courageous battle with cancer, including his journey as a cancer survivor with unmutated CLL at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill-Cornell Medical Center. Today, the American flag flies at half-mast over the Frankford Municipal Building in his honor.

Sam’s life was marked by service, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his community. He served Frankford with distinction for decades, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues, residents, and friends alike. Those who knew him remember a man of honor, perseverance, and compassion, who always put others first.

A lifelong learner and accomplished professional, Sam studied at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and Lycoming College, and attended Blair Academy as well as High Point Regional High School. His strong educational background reflected the dedication and discipline he carried into every aspect of his life and career.

Residing in Augusta, New Jersey, Sam was deeply rooted in the community he loved. His leadership, guidance, and personal warmth left a lasting impact on the people around him. Friends and neighbors remember him not only as a capable leader but also as a kind, approachable, and generous individual who genuinely cared about the well-being of others.

As funeral and memorial arrangements are finalized, the community is invited to honor Sam’s life and legacy. During this difficult time, his family asks for prayers, support, and comforting thoughts from all who were touched by his remarkable life.
